PDF merger apps on Google Play often come with ads, require subscriptions, or have file limits. Some upload your documents to their servers, which is a privacy risk. This browser-based tool works right in Chrome — no app download, no subscription, no upload. Just open the site and merge. Got an iPhone too? See merge PDF on iPhone for iOS instructions.
Chrome on Android supports modern JavaScript libraries like pdf-lib. When you select PDFs, they load into Chrome's memory. The merging happens right on your Android device — nothing gets sent to a server. The merged PDF then downloads to your device's Downloads folder or wherever you choose. Curious how this works technically? See our guide on how browser-based PDF merging works.
When you tap to select files, Android shows all available file providers: Google Drive for cloud files, Downloads for local storage, Dropbox if installed, OneDrive, Samsung My Files, or any other file manager app. You can merge PDFs from any of these sources.
The drag-to-reorder feature works great with touch on Android. Long-press a file card, then drag it up or down to change the order. It's smooth and responsive — feels natural on Android devices.
After merging, Chrome downloads the PDF to your device. You'll see a notification. Tap it to open the file, or find it in Downloads folder. You can then move it to Google Drive, share it via WhatsApp or Gmail, or save it anywhere you want.
Everything works the same on Android tablets. The larger screen makes it easier to see your files and drag them around. Chrome on tablets has the same capabilities as phones.
Chrome: Best performance, recommended. Firefox: Works great, slightly different UI. Samsung Internet: Perfect on Samsung devices. Edge: Chromium-based, works well. Any modern browser on Android should work fine.
